What do I need to use Mobile Technician?
Your company must be running SuccessWare21, and your technicians will need Windows Mobile devices from our approved list. We recommend that you purchase an unlimited data plan for each device from your wireless provider (Sprint, Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile, Telus, Rogers, etc.). What phones work with Mobile Technician?SWRemote software is designed to work on a line of rugged Motorola devices. The list of approved devices is available here. Can I use my IPhone or Blackberry?No. Our software runs exclusively on rugged Motorola devices, and that's because so many of your colleagues have told us that the consumer phones are too flimsy and just don't last. Motorola's devices are designed to be in the field day after day and put up with the rigors of your industry. The equipment costs more, but because they last longer and are more durable, your total cost of ownership is much lower with rugged devices than consumer devices. Please read an open letter to our customers about the decision to end support for consumer grade devices. Is there a monthly fee for Mobile Technician?Yes, $55 per month per device, and $60 per month (for 1000 transactions) for real-time credit card processing. Are there start-up fees?Yes, Mobile Technician requires a one-time activation fee of $1,200. Each device requires a one-time activation fee of $200 (devices 1 through 5) or $150 (devices 6 and up), and finally, setting up credit card processing is $295 one-time. Payment plans are available. Can I try Mobile Technician before I buy?A one-month license can be purchased for $299. This allows you to activate up to five (5) devices for one month. If you decide to continue beyond the one month license, your activation fees are discounted by the $299 already paid. There are no refunds for the one-time license. Is Mobile Technician easy to use?Yes, it is. It was designed with ease-of-use in mind, and over 400 devices are in use today! We also offer complete training solutions for your technicians and dispatch staff. Will Mobile Technician save us money?Yes, it can save you a lot of money very quickly by: - reducing your administrative staff
- replacing your expensive invoices/work orders with a paperless system
- using GPS to reduce your fleet/fuel costs
- swiping cards in the field to get a lower discount rate from the bank - in some cases by more than 1%
Will Mobile Technician generate more revenue?Yes, it can help you generate more revenue by: - allowing you to add technicians without needing more admin/dispatch staff
- eliminating phone calls between techs and the office - saving 15 to 30 minutes per call, and filling that time with new sales calls
